Gluten Free Southern Oven Fried Chicken
Gluten Free Southern Oven Fried Chicken
Ingredients
3 pounds chicken pieces (without skin)salt (to taste)
black pepper (to taste)
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup gluten free flour
1/3 cup coconut oil (or diary free butter)
This is a healthy, allergy friendly version of Southern Fried Chicken. Usually frying the chicken takes a lot of time and is a mess. This recipe is no mess and easy to make.
There are not many ingredients in the recipe. The chicken is coated with seasoned gluten free flour and then baked to give it a healthier twist. I have not tried this but you can probably air fry them too. The servings can be reduced or increased according to your needs.
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350o F.
- In a shallow bowl combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Place parchment paper on a baking tray. Put coconut oil on a baking tray, place it in the preheated oven. When the oil has melted, take it out of the oven.
- Put the chicken in the flour mixture, turning to coat thoroughly.
- Now arrange the chicken on the baking tray in a single layer.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until chicken is done. Turn the chicken half way through.
